I painted this on location at Lower Sardine Lake in the Las Plumas National Forest as one of my submissions for the inaugural Lost Sierra Plein Air competition, and I was honored to be awarded 1st place by judge Kimball Geisler. Seeing these mountains (this region known as the Sierra Buttes), was awe-inspiring. I did my best to capture their grandeur.
